While saving water is very important, its not the only reason for using synthetic grass. Here are a few more reasons to consider artificial turf:
1. If you’re not watering your lawn by hand, then you must be using some sort of sprinkler system. If you’re using one of those “attached to a garden hose” sprinklers, then you’ve probably forgot about it while watching a football game. There’s nothing like watching the neighborhood kids playing in the new river you created for them.
2. You have a sprinkler system but for some reason it doesn’t turn off. A few years ago my old neighbor, who leaves for work much earlier than I do in the morning, left for work as normal. As I was driving past her house, I noticed the river running down the street. Being the nice neighbor I am, I shut off her sprinklers and left her a note on her door. I probably saved her a couple hundred dollars because she comes home later than I do as well (she was a store owner). Not to be rude, but all that water wasn’t helping that horrible looking, crab grass infested mess of a lawn. I only wish that synthetic grass was popular back then. I would have directed her to www.polygrass.com.
3. You have a sprinkler system that is a hassle to keep operational. Tired of adjusting, replacing and repairing them? Tired of those brown spots, running to the hardware store for parts or paying a gardener to constantly fix them? How about when the power goes off or you blew a fuse in the garage and didn’t realize it? Theres nothing like being woken up at 1am by your sprinklers. Oh great, now you have to figure out how to program the darn thing again. Artificial turf, synthetic grass, fake grass, synthetic turf; whatever you want to call it, is the perfect solution.
4. The Lawn Mower! Someone’s gotta do it, why me? I could write an entire blog about the lawn mower but I’ll save that one for another time. I’m sure you have plenty of stories to tell yourselves.
